Every year, the Avalon Theatre Gala serves as its most important fundraiser, celebrating the arts and the community that keeps this beloved nonprofit theater thriving. Each event is inspired by an iconic film, and this year's theme centered on Billy Wilder's 1950 film noir masterpiece, Sunset Boulevard.

My goal was to capture the film's haunting glamour, psychological tension, and unmistakable Old Hollywood aesthetic. I drew inspiration from the era's bold typography, dramatic contrasts, and rich cinematic color palette. And I enjoyed leaning into the film's slightly unhinged, dreamlike atmosphere.
